Hervey Bay , Maryborough and Fraser Coast Region’s sustinability and social justice group

Founded by a group of like-minded community members, Reuse and Recycle has blossomed into a community-focused sustainability and social justice group. Working on community initiatives across the Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Fraser Coast regions, we’re dedicated to bettering our community’s quality of life and the opportunities presented to our community members. Through recycling, markets, training, opportunities and support, we bring people of all backgrounds and ages together for a good cause.

Our team

We’ve grown to be one of the premier recycling and recovery operations in the state. Currently employing over 35 staff members, we’ve returned over $250,000 in donations back to the local community. Our team offers a cost effective solution to staffing landfills and transfer stations with highly experienced staff. Our staff members provide assistance and education to the general public on best practice waste disposal, recycling procedures and how best to support and protect our local community and environment.

Our objective and achievements

Our objective is to recover goods that are able to be reused or repurposed either as whole items or as scrap metals. This endeavour creates an income stream allowing us to provide employment to individuals in the region and offer financial support for local community groups. Through our recycling network, we’re also able to divert huge amounts of material from the costly process of burial in landfills back into recycling and being reused in the region.
